One of the best things about an Outer Banks vacation is all of the fun watersports that it has to offer. OBX is full of fun things to do for those that love splashing around in the waves! While the Outer Banks is known for its beautiful beaches and exciting watersports, there are plenty of things to do on the island if you are not a water fan. With a group of islands as big as the OBX in North Carolina, there is something that everyone in the family or group will love.

Once you’ve settled into your vacation rental home and are eager to get your getaway started, we’re sure you’ll have more than your fair share of fun regardless as to where in the Outer Banks you’re staying.

The Best Things to Do on Roanoke Island

While Roanoke Island is not a part of the main barrier islands of the Outer Banks, it offers plenty of great historic, natural, and entertainment opportunities for visitors year-round. Located between the Roanoke Sound and the Croatan Sound, the island is only eight miles tall and two miles wide, making it a very doable day trip for guests coming from other neighboring islands.
